Testimony

We are meeting with our social worker next week so the home study is starting! We are so glad to finally be getting this started!! We have been so blessed already by this adoption. It has opened up a whole new territory for our family. We got to be involved in our churches "cardboard testimonies" Sunday. Our testimony on cardboard read "Family of 5 Seeking God's purpose" the other side read, "Family of 6 with daughter from China God's purpose fulfilled." What an awesome opportunity God has given us. Thank you Father for your vision for us!!

Thanks for all your wonderful comments they are so sweet and encouraging!! The church truly blessed us with all the donations for the cookbooks etc. Thanks Melody what a blessing for Khloe that you gave out of love! We received $1846 to go to the adoption fund. Shortly I hope to get some donation things going in this blog. Will be working on tshirts and maybe donations for an auction. If there is any ideas out there let me know. We will be meeting our social worker Tuesday the 6th. Yay! Glad to start this part!!! Thank you Lord!

All the Glory to God!

Thank you God for your blessings! We spoke at Christ Chapel today about the adoption. We feel so blessed to have the opportunity to share "Our Story". I can't help but imagine our little girl in an orphanage somewhere in China, no mom no dad (yet) to hold her, love her, sing to her, rock her. But God reassures me in my heart that He is taking care of her even now, He is the "Father to the fatherless, defender of widows — this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families. Psalms 68:5-6." God knew four years ago when I was hoping for a little girl as my third child that she would not be born from my body but from my heart. He blessed us with another precious boy but left the desire for a daughter in my heart for a reason. I had given up the hope of ever having a little girl, but God knew that was not His plan. He already had Khloe picked out for us. It amazes me when I think about how good God is, how perfect His plan is for our lives. Psalm 37:4 reads, " Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires." Thank you God for your favor on our family! Thank you Christ Chapel for your generous donations, thank you Melody for your cookbooks, thank you to all who gave or bought something at the yard sale.  I will paraphrase 2 Corinthians 9, "They (Christ Chapel, Melody, Sheila, others who donated) share freely and give generously...Their good deeds will be remembered forever." To God be all the glory!!!!

Home Study

Mailed in the majority of our home study forms. We should be getting a call next week to set up a visit with our social worker. I am so ready to get this started! I am so thankful that we have opened our hearts and minds to adopt. At times I wonder if I can handle this and then God encourages me some way and assures me we are in His will. God listens and hears my prayers for assurance. Psalms 116:1-2 says, "I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!"

Sharing at the Chapel

"And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me." Matthew 18:5
We want to invite all our family and friends to Christ Chapel in Zebulon, Ga off of Sullivan Road (take a left onto Sullivan Road right after you pass The Farmhouse Restaurant on Hwy 19N coming from Thomaston) . Pastor Billy's sermon series this month is "This is My Story". Eric and I will have the opportunity to share how we came to the decision to adopt a child from China and how God is blessing our adoption. Please come and enjoy an awesome worship service and message. Just come as you are, we are not a fancy church very casual but very Christ centered! Can't wait until Sunday!!

Forms, Forms, and More Forms

Received more forms to fill out for our home study today. Took all three boys to school this morning, this was the first morning I have been home by myself in probably  9 years!! It was nice but almost too quiet. I missed my boys! It will be nice to have the time to work in the house and work on forms though. But back to "work" tomorrow. Thank you God for my job, it is stressful and demanding but I am so thankful to have a job! It is also rewarding! I would love to know what it is like to work a job that is not 12 hour shifts with a 30 minute break (if I am lucky) but I guess I am somewhat accustomed to it after nearly 20 years of working in a pharmacy. Pray for me as I take on these extra tasks with the adoption. I need patience, persistance, and peace!!!!

Home Study in the Works

We mailed our home study application off today!! We hopefully will start this part of the adoption in the next week. I know they will send us more paperwork to complete for our social worker. She should be starting in a week or so. We are so excited to have been able to pay everything so far with no problems due to yardsale, donations, and saving. After we get the home study approved we will be able to apply for grants and set up a donation button on my blog. We are going to try to do several fundraisers too. I am working on a fundraiser with t-shirts now. I know the Lord will provide these needs He is already showing us how faithful He is to those who are following His will. I want to encourage you to do the same. We are so blessed!! Thank you God for your blessings and love for your children.
